DJ & Sax — the Ibiza-style upgrade
Our DJ and sax package puts a live saxophonist on top of a club-trained DJ set. The sax player plugs into the DJ's own sound system, so the two sound like one act rather than a DJ and a musician working separately. On an evening booking we arrive about an hour before the disco to set up the DJ booth, the lighting and the sound. Your DJ plays your first dance, and the sax joins in straight after to get the party going — playing along to the party tracks you have picked and getting out among your guests on the dance floor. Want it earlier in the day? We can set up before the meal instead, with background music through the wedding breakfast and a microphone for the speeches, so the afternoon runs straight into the evening. If you would like sax over cocktails or the drinks reception as well, tell us when you enquire. It has long been one of our most popular upgrades, and the reason is simple: most of your guests will never have seen a live sax over a proper DJ mix at a wedding before.
DJ & Bongos — our Smash It Live package
Smash It Live puts live percussion into the DJ set. A percussionist on bongos plays over the music in sets, dropping in and out through the night — rhythm on top of the beat that is already running, which gives the whole room a festival edge. For this package we arrive one to two hours before your guests sit down to eat, to set up the percussion, the DJ booth, the lighting and the sound. That early start covers the whole day: background music of your choice during the wedding breakfast, microphones for the speeches if the venue has no PA of its own, and announcements such as your entrance and the cutting of the cake. From there it runs straight into the evening, with the DJ, the lighting and the percussion sets through to the end of the night. Choose a single bongo player or a full percussion set-up alongside the DJ.
The full package: DJ, sax and bongos together
For the biggest version, have both. The sax brings the melody people know, the percussion brings the drive, and your DJ holds it all together underneath — three performers on one party. If you are deciding between them, think about what your guests respond to. A tune everyone can sing along to is the sax's job. A beat nobody can stand still through belongs to the bongos. What comes with every package
Whichever you choose, the DJ side is exactly what you get with any Choice DJ booking. Your DJ is club-trained and mixes properly, with no cheesy mic work, and handles the announcements on the day. You get your own online event planner, with an event checklist and a music request system — Must Play, Play If Possible and Do Not Play — and your own playlists are welcome. Sound and modern disco lighting are sized to your venue, everything we bring is PAT-tested, and we are fully insured. Add uplighting, a photo booth or dancing on the clouds, our dry-ice effect for the first dance, if you want the room to look as good as it sounds. We quote each package for your date and venue rather than listing one price, because set-up time, the length of the day and travel all change it. How much do DJ & sax and DJ & bongos cost?
We quote each package for your date rather than publishing a single price. Set-up time, how long the day runs and travel all change the figure, so send us your date, your venue and roughly how many guests, and we will come back with a quote.
When does the sax play?
On an evening booking, your DJ plays your first dance and the sax joins in straight after, playing alongside the DJ through the party and getting out among your guests. If you would like sax earlier — over cocktails or the drinks reception — mention it when you enquire.
Is it really live?
Yes. The saxophonist and the percussionist play live over the DJ's mix, plugged into the same sound system, so what your guests hear on the night is being played in the room.
Do you cover London as well as Kent?
Yes. We are based near Paddock Wood and cover Kent, Greater London and the wider South East. Send us your venue and date and we will confirm availability for the package you want.
