A corridor on the London border
Gravesend and Dartford sit on the seam. The crossing, the A2 and the south-east London boroughs are minutes away, so couples from these towns rarely shortlist venues in one county alone. A barn on the Kent downs and a room in south-east London end up on the same list. That suits us. We cover both sides as standard — Gravesend, Dartford, Swanscombe, Greenhithe, Northfleet and the villages behind the A2, then straight over the water into south-east London — so the venue choice stays about the room and the date rather than about whether the DJ will travel. Nothing changes because the postcode does. Club-trained DJs who read the room
Our DJs come from clubbing backgrounds. That means proper mixing and proper selection — tracks that run into each other rather than stopping dead every three minutes — and a set built from what the floor is doing, not from a laminated running order. It also means no cheesy mic work. We make the announcements you want, when you want them, and otherwise stay out of the way. Requests are welcome on the night, and a good DJ can take one and place it where it works instead of dropping it into the middle of a run. We have been doing this since 2014, across 1200+ events — weddings, corporate nights, private parties and bar and club residencies. Wedding crowds here tend to be mixed ones: three generations, several eras of music, one dancefloor. That is the job.
Sound and lighting sized to the room
Venues along this stretch vary — riverside buildings, hotel function rooms, golf clubs, marquees, village halls. A rig that suits a small low-ceilinged room will be wrong in a barn, so we size the sound and lighting to the space rather than turning up with one setup and hoping. Marquees and village halls usually ask more of us than a hotel suite does, so we check power, ceiling height and floor space before the day rather than on it. Everything is fully insured and PAT-tested, so the paperwork is there when a venue asks for it. Add uplighting if you want the room to change once the meal clears, or a photo booth if you want people doing something other than standing at the bar. We work around access too — loading restrictions, timed unloading, a lift instead of a lawn — if you tell us early.
How the planning works
Once you book, you get an online planning form. Must-play, play-if-possible, do-not-play — three lists, filled in whenever you have five minutes and changed as often as you like. The do-not-play list matters as much as the other two; knowing what to avoid saves a dancefloor faster than knowing what to play. We will talk through timings as well: first dance, cake, speeches overrunning, the point where the older half of the room heads home and the night shifts. If your venue has a curfew or a noise limiter, tell us and we will plan the last hour around it rather than finding out at eleven o'clock. Before you book
Do you cover venues on the London side of the Dartford crossing?
Yes. South-east London is part of our normal patch, and plenty of couples from Gravesend and Dartford end up booking there. It makes no difference to us which side of the boundary your venue sits on — same DJs, same rig, same planning process. Our London wedding DJ page has more on the boroughs we cover.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can for a summer Saturday, because those dates go first. Midweek and winter dates are usually easier. It is still worth asking about a late date, though, because diaries move. Send us your date and venue and we will tell you straight away whether we are free rather than leaving you waiting.
Can we choose the music?
Yes, and you should. Once you book you get an online planning form with three lists — must-play, play-if-possible and do-not-play. Fill them in at your own pace. On the night the DJ works from those plus whatever the floor is telling them, and takes requests from guests. Nothing on your do-not-play list gets played, whoever asks.
What do you need from the venue?
A power supply near where we are setting up, and enough space for the rig and the dancefloor. Beyond that we check access ourselves — parking, loading, stairs or lifts, and any curfew or noise limiter. If you can put us in touch with the venue coordinator, we will sort the details directly and keep it off your list.
