Sevenoaks, West Kent
Sevenoaks is a short drive from our base near Paddock Wood, so a wedding here is genuinely local for us — not a job we've driven two counties for. Club-trained DJs, full sound and lighting sized to your venue, and a dancefloor that builds instead of stalling.
Choice DJ works out of a base near Paddock Wood, which puts Sevenoaks a short run up the A21 rather than a cross-county trek. That matters more than it sounds. It means we get to your venue early, set up and sound-check long before guests are anywhere near the room, and play through to the last song without watching the clock for a long drive home. It also makes a site visit a quick trip rather than a day out, so the load-in is worked out before the wedding rather than on the day. Local knowledge isn't a selling point on its own. It just removes a whole category of things that go wrong when the DJ has travelled too far, arrived too late and started the night on the back foot.
West Kent weddings tend to fall into a few shapes: a country-house or estate venue out in the countryside, a converted barn, a marquee in a garden, or a hall in one of the villages. Each one needs a different rig. A high-ceilinged room with hard walls throws sound everywhere. A marquee swallows it. We size the sound and lighting to the room instead of turning up with one setup and hoping — a PA scaled to the space, dancefloor lighting that suits the room rather than fighting it, and uplighting if you want the walls carrying your colours. Photo booths and other extras are there if you want them. Everything is PAT tested and we're fully insured, so venue managers get the paperwork they ask for without chasing us for it.
Our DJs come from clubbing backgrounds. Proper mixing, proper selection — tracks that flow into each other, a floor that builds instead of resetting every four minutes, and no cheesy mic work between records. We make the announcements you actually need and leave it there. Before the day you get an online planning form: must-play, play-if-possible, do-not-play. The last list is the one couples underuse and the one that does the most work. Name the song that has emptied every dancefloor you've stood on, and it stays out. On the night we take requests, but we read them against the room — if something will stall the momentum, we hold it until the moment fits. We're we've played 1200+ events since 2014, so we have a fair idea of what a room full of people actually dances to.
We cover Sevenoaks itself and out through Westerham, Otford, Seal, Kemsing, Shoreham, Riverhead, Dunton Green and the smaller villages around them, along with the rest of Kent. Guest lists in this corner of the county often split between Kent and London, and that shapes the music more than couples expect — two crowds, one dancefloor, one set that has to work for both. If your venue sits the other side of the M25, we cover Greater London and the South East as well. Same DJs, same kit, same approach, whether the reception is in a Sevenoaks hotel, a barn outside Westerham or a hall in Otford. Either way the first step is identical. Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how you want the night to feel, and we'll take it from there.

Common questions
Close to it. Choice DJ works out of a base near Paddock Wood, a short drive from Sevenoaks rather than a trek across the county. In practice that means we arrive early, set up and sound-check without rushing, and play through to the last song without one eye on a long journey home.
All of them, as far as we're concerned. Westerham, Otford, Seal, Kemsing, Shoreham, Riverhead, Dunton Green and the smaller places in between sit comfortably inside our patch, along with the rest of Kent. If your venue is the other side of the M25, we cover Greater London and the South East too — same DJs, same equipment, same approach.
No, but tell us early. Limiters are common at country-house and marquee venues, and they only cause trouble when the DJ finds out about one at seven in the evening. Knowing in advance lets us position and set the system so the sound stays full and even at the level the venue allows.
Yes, and we'd rather you did. You get an online planning form with three lists — must-play, play-if-possible and do-not-play. Fill in all three. The do-not-play list saves more dancefloors than the first one does. We take requests on the night as well, then read them against the room and pick the right moment.
Send us your date and your venue, and we'll tell you straight whether we're the right DJs for the night.
