Ashford, Kent

Wedding DJ Hire in Ashford and the Kent Weald

Club-trained DJs for weddings in Ashford, Tenterden and the villages across the Weald. Full sound and lighting sized to your room, proper mixing, no cheesy mic work. We are based near Paddock Wood, so Ashford and the venues around it are an easy run for us.

Where we cover around Ashford

Ashford sits in the middle of Kent, which helps when you are planning a wedding. The venues themselves are mostly out in the villages — converted barns, country houses, farm buildings with room for a marquee — and they are scattered in every direction. Tenterden and the Wealden villages sit to the south-west, Romney Marsh runs out below, and the coast is a short drive east. We cover all of it. We are based near Paddock Wood, so an Ashford booking is a straightforward run for us, and it works as a sensible base for venues further out towards the sea. We plan load-in and setup around your timings rather than around the drive, and we arrive with enough time to sound-check properly before anyone is in the room.

Club-trained DJs who read the room

Our DJs come from clubbing backgrounds. That means proper mixing and proper selection — one track into the next without the dead air, and without the mic chatter that turns a wedding into a school disco. Reading the room is the part that matters. A barn full of family at nine o'clock is a different job to the same barn at half eleven, and the set moves with it rather than working down a printed list. We take requests through the night and we use judgement about them. If something is going to empty the floor, we will find the version that does not, or the right moment for it. A full floor that stays full is the whole job.

Sound and lighting sized to your room

Rural Kent venues vary. A stone barn with a high open roof behaves nothing like a low-beamed function room or a marquee on a lawn, and a rig that suits one will be wrong in the other. We size the sound and lighting to the space, so the dance floor is loud enough to feel while the tables can still hold a conversation. Uplighting is available if you want the room to change character after the meal, along with add-ons like a photo booth. Everything is PAT-tested and we are fully insured, and the documentation goes over to your venue coordinator without being chased for it. Send us the venue name and we will tell you what we would bring.

Planning it without the guesswork

Once you book, you get access to our online planning form. You use it to build three lists: must-play, play-if-possible and do-not-play. The last one earns its keep more than couples expect — it is where the ex's song and the track your mother hates go, and it saves an awkward thirty seconds later on. You also give us the running order, the first dance and who is speaking, so nothing has to be worked out on the day. We take it from there. If you are still comparing venues across a wider patch, our main Kent wedding DJ page covers the rest of the county, and the same DJs and the same kit travel to all of it.

Common questions

Before you book

Do you cover the villages around Ashford, or only the town itself?

Both. Ashford is surrounded by rural venues and we cover the spread — Tenterden and the Wealden villages, the barns and country houses in between, and out towards Romney Marsh. If your venue sits in an Ashford or wider TN postcode, assume we cover it. If you are unsure, send us the venue name and we will confirm.

How late can you play?

That is usually your venue's call rather than ours. Plenty of venues set a music curfew as a condition of their licence, and some have a noise limiter fitted to the system. We work to whatever is in place. Tell us the curfew when you enquire and we will build the last hour around it, so the night finishes on the right track instead of being cut off mid-set.

Can we choose the music ourselves?

As much or as little as you want. Some couples send a detailed list, others give a rough steer and let us read the room. The planning form takes must-plays, play-if-possibles and a do-not-play list, and we work from all three. On the night we take requests from guests and use judgement about them — anything likely to clear the floor gets handled rather than played straight.

Do you cover the ceremony and speeches as well as the evening?

Yes. We can handle ceremony music, a microphone for the speeches and background music through the meal, then carry on into the evening set. Flag it early if the ceremony and reception are in different rooms or separate buildings, because that changes what we bring and when we need access to set up.

Tell us your date and your venue, and we will come back quickly on whether we are free.
